LOOKING FOR INFORMATION

To anyone out in Blog land. I have an Amazon Fire tablet that is having a problem charging. It ran down a bit once. Recharged to 100 percent held that for a couple of weeks then started going down again. If the battery goes down to zero can you still run a tablet off the power cord? Seems like an easy enough question to ask but got no help from the so called help line from a phone answerer with a very heavy, almost unintelligible Indian accent.

It doesn't recharge when you plug it in?

Have you tried this:

"If your Fire tablet doesn't charge, follow these steps. Help for Kindle Fire HD (3rd Generation), Kindle Fire HDX 7" (3rd Generation), and Kindle Fire HDX 8.9" (3rd Generation).

Before you begin, make sure that:

You are using the power adapter and micro-USB cable that came with your device.
You are charging your device from a power outlet.
Note: Using a USB port connected to a computer will increase charging time or may not charge at all.

The micro-USB cable is securely connected to your device and power adapter.
You are not trying to charge your Fire tablet in a very hot or very cold environment.
Then:
Unplug the power adapter and micro-USB cable from your device, and then connect them to your device again.
Insert the power adapter into a power outlet.
If your device doesn't indicate that it's charging, unplug the power adapter.
Press and hold the power button for two to three seconds until you see the message "Do you want to shut down your Fire?" and then tap OK.
After the device has completely turned off, press the power button for two to three seconds to turn your Fire tablet back on.
After you restart (or attempt to restart) your device, plug the power adapter and micro-USB cable into the device and charge for at least an hour.
If your device is turned on, the battery indicator will look like this when your Fire tablet is charging:

If your Fire tablet doesn't turn on or doesn't respond, make sure the power adapter and micro-USB cable are securely connected, and verify that the power adapter and your electrical outlet are working."

Copied and pasted this from the Amazon help site...

Thanks, I read that. The connection to the tablet itself is loose. The cord is the one that came with the set. I'm just trying to find out if i can run off the power cord even if the battery says zero. The PC does.
