Amber was waiting at the door this morning right on time. I think she heard me check the porch. She wasn't there, but when I came back with food she was sitting on the middle step with a "yes" look on her face. Now to convince her that porch will be a good place to hang out when the weather turns wet and chillyy.

Amber really is a lovely cat. I don't know if I've mentioned that cats were my 'first love' and dogs were not--She's a reminder of why they are. I'm so glad that she's gaining confidence and knows that you're taking care of her and she'll be 'okay!'
Looks like she's developing a relationship with you pretty quickly. Soon she'll be doing the "O.J." thing and hanging out with you guys all the time.
BTW, are you sure it's a female?
Apparently she would let Verl pet her but Jean was a really nervous type. I may have to resort to bribery in the end, but at least she's showing up on some sort of schedule so that we can be sure that most of the food ends up in her tummy and not somebody else's. She seems to be buddies (of sorts) with the cat across the street. But she ran off another curious one one morning which tells me she considers the front yard "hers."
