What a picture in the mind.

I saw a hummingbird stand
in midair and scratch his cheek
vigorously with his left foot,
as he might have done perched
at ease upon a tree. "Wonderful!"
I said to myself. "I never dreamed
of such a thing before, and now
after seventy seven years
of watching, I have seen it!"

Wendell Berry 2011.

I watched a hummingbird dive bomb the sparrows next door as a crow would chase a hawk. That little bird, no bigger than the palm of my hand, was taking on birds bigger than he was . Way to go, little one. And then it came and dive bombed me and flew off. Chpp, chpp.
