IMBOLC

Today, if you are or were or just wish you were Irish it is Imbolc, the beginning of Spring. About six weeks from the Winter Solstice and about six weeks until the Spring Equinox. It's lighter in the mornings even if it isn't much warmer. In fact we're supposed to go below freezing again by mid week.

Most of us can't light a bonfire for Brighid. Light a candle even if it's only in your imagination for the patron of the fires of creation whether it's poetry, smithcraft or the hearthfire.

So banish Winter and welcome Spring. It'll get here. Eventually. The crocuses are up! Even if they aren't blooming yet.
